I therefore decided to share a recipe for a most delicious citrus cake with all of you. Please bake it, invite some friends for Heritage day and share your photo’s on our page.
Ingredients:
290g butter

1 ⅓ cups plain yoghurt
2 oranges, zested
1 lemon, zested
3 t lemon curd
Slices of fresh citrus, for decoration
Icing:
300g butter
500g icing sugar
2 naartjies, zested
Method:
To make the icing:
Cream the butter and icing sugar until pale and fluffy, and then add the zest. Mix for two minutes.
Once the cakes are completely cool, sandwich them together with the lemon curd and ice with the naartjie icing. Decorate with fresh slices of citrus.
